Our library is the heart of the school where reading, learning and imagination lives. We have more than 20,000 resources, both fiction and non-fiction, for the students to explore, where they can travel to all parts of our Earth and beyond, fight dragons one day and laugh with the Wimpy Kid the next or lose themselves in the beauty and imaginings of any of our 12,300+ authors.
Although classes have a set library time, students are invited to use the library whenever they like to borrow or return books.
The library is open every morning from 8:30am – 8:55am for children and their parents/carers to sit quietly and read a book together.
Parent borrowing is also encouraged, and parents can become members of our library at any time. Borrowing and reading together develops a strong foundation for literacy.
There is nothing like the feeling of snuggling up with your child and a book and sharing the pleasure of turning each page of a new adventure.
We have an obligation to read aloud to our children. To read them things they enjoy. To read to them stories we are already tired of. To do the voices, to make it interesting, and not stop reading to them just because they learn to read to themselves.
~ Neil Gaiman
TV. If kids are entertained by two letters, imagine the fun they'll have with twenty-six. Open your child's imagination. Open a book.
